About this recall
SMA Nutrition has received a small number of reports of lumps of milk powder in SMA Progress Follow-On Milk Powder 900 gram cans Batch Q8E113R26, Best Before 10 10 2009, so as a precautionary measure, we are recalling this batch.
As a further precautionary measure, we are also recalling Batch number Q8E103R26, Best Before 09 10 2009 - which is the batch manufactured immediately before Batch Q8E113R26 - even though we have had no reports of any problems with this Batch Q8E103R26.
We are advising that products from these two batches should not be used.
The lumps consist of milk powder that has stuck together. The lumps vary in size and colour; some have the same colour as the milk powder; others are light brown through to dark brown in colour. This discolouration, when it occurs, has been caused by overheating.
This recall ONLY applies to the following batches of SMA Progress Follow-on Milk Powder 900g cans
• Batch number Q8E113R26 – Best Before 10 10 2009
• Batch number Q8E103R26 – Best Before 09 10 2009
