Second
Trimester (12-23 weeks)
What's
happening ?
Mum
Your bump begins to show – and everyone knows the fantastic news about your pregnancy!
Time to think about maternity leave, whether or not you’ll go back to work and, if you are going to go back to work, childcare.
Ask your midwife about registering for antenatal classes – and look out for antenatal exercise or swimming classes, which are a great way to stay fit and meet other new mums-to-be.
You’ll notice your baby moving about as what starts off as a slight fluttering gradually becomes full-scale kicks!
Baby
By 13 weeks, your baby is fully formed.
By 23 weeks, he is 23 cm long and covered in fine hair, which disappears before or just after birth.
Dad
Make the most of your last weeks as a couple by treating your partner to a romantic weekend away – or devote a couple of days to pampering your partner in the comfort of your home.
