Babies change a lot during months 5-8. Here’s our guide to roughly what happens and when…

5 Months

  • Reaching out to be picked up
  • Sleeping most of the night (fingers crossed!)
  • Able to hold an object

6 Months

  • Able to sit on the floor, propped up by cushions
  • Starting to show an interest in food
  • First tooth might make an appearance
  • Making repetitive noises
  • Able to see across a room

7 Months

  • Trying to speak – but in her very own language!
  • Eating finger foods

8 Months

  • Attempting to crawl – or shuffling along on her bottom!
  • Understands what you’re saying
  • Might be able to pull herself up by holding onto the furniture
